![]() ![]() There are 100% guaranteed survivors out there, up until you have a population of around 650+, which is the cutuff point where survivor locations stop spawning (until your population gets back to below 600 for whatever reason) Research outpost or whatnot can contain a team of engineers. Large Crater, Red Tent, Stone Circle, Buried Hamlet and Decrepit Village almost always contain survivors. People, you'll randomly keep finding, but until the city reaches about 650-ish people, there are guaranteed "survivors" locations scattered about. That being said, 3 steam cores are plenty for Hard, a WallDrill, 2 Coal Mines, and you should be able to get by with just hunters for quite some time (Sawdust Burgers can help a lot if food is a bottleneck, and the sickness they cause are negligible compared to the discontent Soup builds up over time, not to mention an even better raw food to rations ratio, so if you have to take a food law, it's a clear winner. Scout speed is top tier tech even without this, but knowing that steam cores are furthest out, and if you don't get to them before a storm, you'll have to start from square one, makes it even more important. ![]() Steam cores in particular, seems to drop near the very end of any of the (usually 3) directions the scout team can head. There definitely are more people and steam cores out there. I don’t have any steam cores so I use mostly hunters huts and they employ half my population.Īny advice? Am I approaching it the wrong way? Any tips on finding more people and steam cores out in the wilds? I try to rush more scouts/faster scouts asap but I usually prioritize other research first so I don’t end up getting better scouts until day 7 or 8.įinally, I just feel like I never have enough people to operate everything. I usually find one group of ~30 before the first storm hits, but no more. The second problem is not finding many survivors. I use two for coal mines and one for a hothouse, but I never have quite enough coal or food to keep my city running smoothly, so when a hazard pops up or anything goes wrong, I either run out of food or coal and ppl start dropping. So I have the 3 steam cores that you start with and that’s it. Like I said, I’ve re-started ~10 times And I’ve never found a single steam core out in Frostland. Last run was going so well, but the day after the storm I had 100 starving people. I’ve re started around 10 times now and I either fail right before the first storm hits or shortly afterwards. I’m trying my hand at endless Endurance mode on Hard and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to make it work. Got boring because it was too easy After a while. I’ve tried Endurance on medium, that went great as well. I’ve beat the main scenario on hard, it went really well. I’m looking for advice specifically for Endurance mode (Hard) Hey guys, been following this sub since I started playing Frostpunk and I’ve found lots of good tips and strategies here.
